They Say We've Got Senator McCain on the Run...

...and that He's About to Withdraw Support for His Own Bill to Strictly Limit the Number of Nutritional Supplements Available to You...

...But Is It Really True...or Is It a Ruse???

Hi, Steve Barwick here, for www.TheSilverEdge.com...

Well, I've got good news and bad news for those of you who may be concerned about the recent attack by Senator John McCain on your right to use nutritional supplements as you see fit.

The Good News...

As you know from our most recent ezine, Senator John McCain had crawled into bed with Big Pharma by sponsoring a bill known as S. 3002, or the Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA) of 2010...

This bill is specifically designed to dramatically limit the number of nutritional supplements available to consumers, and to make it too onerous for supplement manufacturers to introduce new supplements to the market.

It would essentially turn the nutritional supplement industry almost wholly over to the bureaucrats at the FDA!

But as avid nutritional supplement users like you got wind of this bill, poor old McCain got slammed with a veritable deluge of angry phone calls that supposedly forced him to beat a hasty retreat and withdraw support of his own bill.

However, we're still waiting for a formal announcement from McCain's office.  The bill might be dead in the water, but unless McCain steps forward and says so, as far as I'm concerned it's still in need of a good stompin'!

As one pro-supplement internet commentator asked rhetorically, regarding our supposed victory over the McCain bill, "Can we kick it to make sure it's down? Another shot to the head for good measure? Just don't let it out of your sight folks -- these things have a tendency to reincarnate with new names."

The Bad News...

The bad news is that the above commentator is right.

It now appears that even if McCain does drop his support of the bill, he may be attempting to have some of its most onerous key positions attached to other popular bills as amendments.

According to the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH), "There are numerous rumors floating around that individual elements of the McCain bill will turn up as amendments to other legislation. We will be maintaining our steely vigilance against all other legislative efforts that might infringe consumer and practitioner access to US natural health products, on which so many Americans depend."

The Bottom Line...

The McCain bill ain't dead until it's damned good and dead.

And frankly, it's up to you and me to make sure that happens.  Here's what you need to do right now in order to make sure the McCain bill is indeed dead as a doornail and protect your ongoing right to the kind of broad access to nutritional supplements you're used to...

Take Action NOW To Defend Your Health Freedom!

1.   Sign up for your FREE Health Freedom Alerts at https://server.publishers-mgmt.com/se/mkt/  so you'll always be kept in the loop as new threats to your health freedoms come to light, such as the upcoming new FTC regulations discussed above.

2.   Join the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) by visiting their website at http://www.anh-usa.org/, and sign up for the ANH Action Alerts.  Then go to this link and sign their petition to stop the McCain bill, which will be sent to your Senators. Finally, please consider signing up to become a member of the ANH at this link.  This is the most effective grass roots organization now challenging the McCain bill. Every new member gives the ANH more clout to wage war against those who seek to eliminate your rights to use nutritional supplements as you please.

3.   Call Senator McCain's office immediately at (202) 224-2235!  Also, let him know that you don't want him working to attach key provisions of S. 3002 to other legislation! Express your opposition to S. 3002, demanding that this legislation be withdrawn. Let him know politely, but in no uncertain terms, that you consider his legislation to be an assault on your health freedoms, and his protestations to the contrary an assault on your intellect!

4.   Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121. Give your zip code and ask to be connected with the office of your Congressional representatives. Tell your representatives that you don't want them to support S. 3002, and you don't want them to support any other legislation that may have key provisions of S. 3002 attached as amendments.  (If you'd prefer, you can look up your representatives' names and telephone numbers in the 111th Congress Phone/Fax Directory at the following link: http://www.kaufmanzoning.net/111directory.htm)

5.   Send an email or printed letter to your Congressional representatives by clicking on the link below. The supplied text, which you may edit, states that you want them to oppose S. 3002. Be sure to add that you do not want them to support any legislation to which provisions from S. 3002 have been added as amendments.  http://www.capwiz.com/lef/issues/alert/?alertid=14665781&type=CO

Dead from the Head Down!

It's vital that we make sure the McCain bill is dead from the head down.

Otherwise, it will undoubtedly rise up to bite us again, in the very near future.  We won't have to fight this particular battle twice, if we do the job right...right now!

Please join with me and thousands of other angry nutritional supplement users.  Lift up your voice and let Senator McCain and your own representatives know you simply won't stand for such an underhanded assault on your health freedoms.

Regards,

Steve Barwick, for www.TheSilverEdge.com
